>> a deal where both sides got things they wanted. >> reporter: the governor helped them come to an agreement. few details are being released on it. in a statement, officials said, in part, among other things it will provide faculty with pay increases and allow the state system cost savings. details will be available upon final approval. withdrawal would have required temporary faculty to teach an extra class a semester. the deal would only last until 2018. do you think it will happen again? >> i hope not. this is the first time ever. i hope it's the last time. >> reporter: jim, students were understandably concerned about the impact it would have had on homecoming. if the strike hadn't ended in time, the band wouldn't have been able to perform. we are told as of now, everything will run as planned.
